We are updating out kitchen and so we went along for a design consultation at Magnet. I was suprised at how busy they were and the gact that you needed to book several days in advance to get a slot.
The appointment was made and we were one step closer to getting our dream kitchen.
The first few mins was used to browse through the showroom to look at all the different kitchens. Then the next two houes we sat and designed our kitchen with some of the experts. I was really suprised at how patient they were. They spent time to understand the brief and then verify the measurements.
They then create a kitchen for you. You can see what the designer is doing as they have their own computer screen which is then projected behind them for you to view too. This way you can see and change the kitchen as it is created. I thought thia was really great. The software that they use allows an instant 3D image to be created so you can see what the kitchen would look like.
I felt the designer too care to create the work triangle and to try and use the space as effectively as he could. I liked the way he made the kitchen symmetrical. I wanted the maximum storage and he did this. He was not pushey and did not try to upsell anything. We respected and appreciated this.
The only downside to the experience was the quote! We received it by email the same day. It was accompanied by images 2D and 3D. There were lots of additional items thay were i there which were not discussed in the consulation. This raises the quote quite significantly.
These are optional and we are now waiting to meet again to finalise the quote!

My son was mesmorised by all the toys. The layout of the suite is great. As you enter the suite the lounge area has been converted to a childrens bedroom filled with toys and matching bed linen.
At the back of the suite is the parents bedroom. The two areas have the bathroom inbetween. This allows the parents to have a relaxing sleep in while the children are well occupied. I think the only problem will be getting them to fall asleep following all the excitement!
Some quirky facts about we learnt on the day
· In 2006, David Beckham broke millions of hearts by stepping down as England captain. Luckily PLAYMOBIL provided the perfect replacement, as the first PLAYMOBIL footballers with a kicking leg were released in this year!
· PLAYMOBIL’s version of everyone’s favourite super-sleuth Sherlock Holmes arrived in 1994. Britain’s beloved Benedict Cumberbatch would never have made the role on his own had he not narrowly escaped death in a bomb explosion in this year!
· A character looking suspiciously like a familiar American oddball-pop star arrived in 2012. The same pop star also made it onto The Simpsons in this year!
· PLAYMOBIL first appointed a Royal Guard in 1978, and has sold 20,000 in the UK since. That’s 5,000 times the amount of guards the Queen has outside Buckingham Palace!
· The PLAYMOBIL Princess Wedding Advent Calendar was released in 2011 – the year after Prince William proposed to Kate Middleton!
· PLAYMOBIL people have even found the time to cross the iconic Abbey Road crossing, in 2013 - 50 years after The Beatles’ released their very first album!

A Baby grow that grows with your baby!
The Justafit range was
developed after a comment made by our midwife on a home visit. Our eldest son
Nicholas was 17 months old when our daughter Lois was born. Bedtime was
approaching when our midwife visited for a routine check-up and Nicholas was
ready for bed in his sleepsuit. She commented on the dangers presented by the
sleepsuit legs being too long and how he would trip and fall.
We had been experiencing this problem for a
while including a number of trips and tumbles as well as frustrated faces and
whinges as he was standing on the fabric of one sleepsuit leg with the other
foot! His sleeves were also too long and kept dipping in his breakfast!
We were unable to find any existing solutions or products in the shops to help
us, so decided to create our own.
Infasense Ltd was born in June 2012 with the
aim of creating sensible yet innovative products to make life with younger
children easier and safer.
In partnership with a local company, Centreline
Design Ltd, the Justafit velcro adjustable sleepsuits are the first products to
be launched.
Created by parents to
make the lives of parents easier.
After hearing this I was looking forward to trying them. The
package arrived promptly. My first impression on opening the product was it was
of a lovely thick good quality cotton. It felt soft to touch and was a lovely
deep turquoise colour. I wash all my sons clothes before he wears them and I
was pleased that it retained its shape and did not bobble on first wash.
The baby grow has been developed to allow you to adapt it to
the size of your little one. It has an adjustable Velcro that goes around the
wrists and the ankles. When it arrived despite hearing about the product I was
still a little confused about how to use it! I looked it up on the products
website. Its not complicated at all and its easier to put the sleepsuit on the
child as it makes much more sense.
The excess material
is held above the Velcro strap so that the child does not trip on the material
and the sleeves do not fall into the food.
I think that they have been priced really reasonably at 2
baby grows for £19.99 as you can buy a bigger size and it will last for longer.
It saves you buying lots of sleepsuites as your baby goes through his or her
growth spurts.
